Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

(a year later)

Luke returns to his home planet of Tatooine; little did he know that the Empire was constructing a second Death Star. He sends Artoo and Threepio to Jabba’s palace and offers them to Jabba as a gift, hoping to avoid as much conflict as possible. Then a bounty hunter comes bringing Chewbacca in shackles hoping to collect the bounty from Jabba. At night the bounty hunter sneaks into Jabba’s chambers and unfreezes Han Solo from the carbonite. The bounty hunter turns out to be Leia. Jabba and his groupies appear and ambush Leia and Han. They take Han to a prison cell where he is reunited with Chewbacca. They make Leia wear a metal bikini and become Jabba’s pet/slave, putting a leash on her. Luke comes and uses the mind-trick on Jabba to try to get his friends back. It doesn’t work and Luke falls into a trap door leading to a rancor monster. The rancor tries to eat Luke, but he kills it by closing a gate down on it. Jabba is upset and tells them that they will be cast into the Great Pit of Carkoon where the Sarlacc monster will digest them for a thousand years. They go to the dune sea above the Pit of Carkoon and Jabba gives them a chance for their final plea. Luke takes this opportunity to attack. They fight Jabba, Leia chokes him to death, and his minions and destroy the sail barge. Luke goes to Dagobah and the rest go to the Rebel base.

In Dagobah, Yoda assures Luke that Darth Vader is his father and that there is another Skywalker. Then Yoda becomes one with the Force. Obi-wan’s ghost then appears. Luke asks why he lied to him, saying that Darth Vader killed his father. They talk and Luke realizes that Leia is his sister. Obi-wan also tells Luke that he must kill Darth Vader in order for him to become a true Jedi. Luke rejoins his friends at the Rebel base. The Rebels have a briefing of the plan to destroy the second Death Star. A team led by General Han Solo will go to the moon of Endor to destroy the shield generator of the Death Star. Then a fleet of fighters led by Lando will go into the core of the Death Star and destroy the main reactor. Luke and his friends take a stolen Imperial cruiser to sneak to Endor. They have some trouble with a couple of storm-troopers and Leia gets separated from the team. She finds a furry creature called an Ewok who takes her to his tribe. The others search for Leia and get caught in a trap. A group of Ewoks capture them and take them back to their village. The Ewoks see Threepio and think he is a god. There, they meet Leia. They put them over a fire. Luke tells Threepio to tell them to release them or he’ll use his magic on them. He makes Threepio levitate and they are released. Later Threepio tells them of their exploits and the Ewoks accepts them as part of their tribe. Luke talks to Leia and tells her that they’re siblings and that he must kill Darth Vader also revealing that he is his father. Luke leaves and gives himself in to the Imperials. He’s taken to Darth Vader and Luke tries to turn his father to the good side.

The Ewoks know of a back entrance to the shield generator. They take the Rebels there and get inside easily since there were only a few guards, but Imperials soon ambush them. The attack team in space realizes that the shield is still up and are trapped, fighting TIE fighters. Back in Endor, the Ewoks suddenly appear and fight the storm-troopers. Even though their weapons were primitive they won the battle. Han fools the people inside the shield generator building and got them to come out. They go in, plant explosives in the generator and blow it up. At that instant all the Rebel fighters headed straight to the main core of the Death Star. Meanwhile, somewhere inside the Death Star, Emperor Palpatine is trying to turn Luke into the dark side by getting him angry. He makes him watch the ships battle and tells them his friends will lose. He gets angry, snatches his lightsaber and swings it toward the Emperor. Vader blocks it just in time and they fight. The Sith provoke Luke into letting his anger control him, but he regains his calm every time he realizes that. Finally Luke decides he won’t kill his father and throws away his lightsaber knowing that it will turn him to the dark side. The Emperor attacks him with Force lightning. Vader can’t stand seeing his son suffering, so he lifts the Emperor and throws him into the abyss. Vader is severely injured by the lightning. He asks Luke to open his mask and tells him that he was right in knowing that there was still good in him. Luke and his father get out just in time before the Death Star explodes. They go to Endor and Luke cremates his father. The worlds celebrate the fall of the Empire and the Ewoks and Rebels celebrate their victory. Luke sees Anakin, Yoda and Obi-wan’s ghost and joins the celebrations.
